There are three risks of driving without insurance in California:

1. If you are driving your vehicle, or even someone else's vehicle and there is no insurance coverage, you are violating the law.

2. If you drive without insurance and are involved in an auot accident that is your fault and harm is caused, you may be personally financially responsible for all the harm and losses you have caused.

3. If you are involved in an accident, and that accident is not your fault but you are driving without liability insuarance the laws in California limit the amount of damages that you can recover. You are only able to recover out of pocket expenses. This means that you cannot make a claim for pain and suffering, and disfigurement.
