What is the role of a jury in a civil trial? The role of the jury is to determine the facts and then apply them to the law that is given to them by the judge. In a trial there are going to be multiple versions of what occurred. And the jury has to decide who has the best argument or  who has the best facts to support the claim that is being presented.
